  • November 28, 2009:  (Good News) All papers in BIFE 2009 proceedings have been indexed by EI Compendex, please visit the EI Engineering Village homepage: http://www.engineeringvillage2.org.cn/ and check your paper. If you would like to check all papers for BIFE 2009, please input "BIFE 2009" in the item of "Conference Information", all papers in BIFE 2009 proceedings will be found in EI Compendex.
  • Note that if you cannot query, it indicates EI Compendex is not subscribed by your institution or university because EI Compendex  database is not free for all users.

  • August 21, 2009: BIFE2009 proceedings have entered into IEEE eXplore and INSPEC, please see http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/RecentCon.jsp?punumber=5208739. For EI Compendex and ISTP, it may take 6-12 months for indexing in terms of IEEE CS arrangement. Once indexing services are provided, we will post them in the conference website.
  • August 9, 2009: BIFE2009 has been closed successfully, the conference organizer thanks all participants to support the conference. The next conference (BIFE2010) will be held in Hong Kong on August 13-15, 2010. There are some conference pictures for BIFE2009, please enjoy the pictures.

  • May 28, 2009: The conference proceedings has been published by IEEE CS press, the accepted 197 papers registered for conference has been included into the proceedings. The following is the proceedings cover (Download) and the Table of Contents (Download). The ISBN of the conference proceedings: 978-0-7695-3705-4.
  • May 21, 2009: Prof. K.K. Lai, from City University of Hong Kong, has accepted our invitation to give an invited talk for IEEE BIFE2009. His tentative title of the talk is: Quantitative Models for Credit Risk Assessment, the abstract and his short CV can be found here. 
  • May 17, 2009: Now the conference secretary group are collecting attendees' information to prepare the conference program, if you would like to give an oral talk, please let the secretary group know via bife2009@gmail.com.  The deadline is June 15, 2009. If the deadline is passed, your talk will not be included into conference program.
  • For Chinese Participants [中国作者敬请注意]: IEEE BIFE2009正在收集参会者信息以制作会议日程，如果注册作者当时在注册表中没有标明要做演讲但是现在又想做演讲，请尽快给会务组信箱bife2009@gmail.com写信说明你的论文编号(是会务组分配的编号，不是提交到IEEE产生的那个编号)和作者姓名及论文标题。截至日期为2009年6月15日。如果我们在此日期之前没有收到你的信息，你的论文将不会排入会议日程。

  • May 4, 2009: Prof. Shaoyi He, from California State University at San Marcos, USA has accepted our invitation to give an invited talk for IEEE BIFE 2009.   • April 10, 2009: Two important Reminders:
  • (A) Revise the paper in terms of review comments and IEEE CS template, and the submit the revised paper and the IEEE electronic copyright form (eCF) to IEEE CS press. Deadline: April 17, 2009
  • (B) Make the registration as early as possible.
  •        Deadline: Early registration: March 30-April 14, 2009
  •                         Late registration: April 15-April 25, 2009
  • April 2, 2009: Due to paper quality and page limit, accepted papers are categorized as regular paper (5 pages) and short paper (4 page). All revised accepted papers will be included into the conference proceedings and cited by ISTP and EI if authors revise their papers carefully (This condition is very important for indexing). For the requirement of IEEE CS AuthorKit, 3-page short paper should be 4-page short paper. Please accord with the conference notification from the conference organizers.

  • March 30, 2009: The IEEE CS Press has assigned an Online Author Kit to BIFE 2009, the web address of Online Author Kit is shown as follows:

    Please accepted authors use the IEEE CS template and read the instruction carefully to format their paper and generate PDF file via PDF eXpress tool. Then send the PDF file to IEEE CS press in Step 8. In addition, please send the copyright form to IEEE CS before April 17, 2009.

    Special Attention for Accepted Authors: There are three main conditions or steps for final publication: (1) Revise your paper considering the reviewing comments and IEEE CS template, submit the revised version to IEEE CS press before April 17, 2009. Please strictly use the template to format your paper, otherwise your paper will be requested to be re-formatted. If reformatted layout is satisfied, the IEEE CS production editor will remove your paper from the conference proceedings; (2) Submit the e-Copyright Form (eCF) to IEEE CS press before April 17, 2009;  (3) Complete registration before April 25, 2009. Notice: If you do not complete the three steps before the deadline, your paper will be rejected automatically and your paper will be removed from the accepted paper list.

    All accepted papers including regular papers (5 pages) and short papers (4 pages) will be included into the IEEE CS proceedings, which will be cited by EI and ISTP. Furthermore, besides the difference of page limits, there are no other differences among the three categories of accepted papers. In the IEEE conference proceedings, we will not make any marks for short papers and regular papers. In addition, in the IEEE CS Author Kit webpage, you can ignore the requirement for 3-page short  paper and you can use 4-page short paper.

  • March 30, 2009: The acceptance or rejection notification of the BIFE2009 conference has been sent to authors on the mid-night of March 30, 2009. This year, we received about 590 submissions (including two main tracks and 4 workshops or special sessions) from 14 countries and regions and our acceptance rate is about 33%. Our policy is to guarantee the quality of the papers while at the same time to encourage more people to participate in the conference. Authors that have not received any notification can contact with us: bife2009@gmail.com.

  • March 27, 2009: The conference registration information is posted, please see details about registration fee (English, Chinese).
  • March 20, 2009: Due to the delay of submission deadline, the notification date is delayed to March 30, 2009, please wait a few days patiently.
  • March 15, 2009:  A famous scientist on Web Intelligence, Prof. Ning Zhong has accepted our invitation to give an invited talk for IEEE BIFE 2009. His tentative title of the talk is: Towards Brain-inspired Web Intelligence and Applications, the abstract and his short CV can be found here.
  • February 27, 2009: Due to some problems about online submission system, the organizing committee of BIFE 2009 decided to extend the deadline to March 10, 2009. Accordingly, the review notification will also be extended to March 30, 2009. Please see the new deadline. The authors who did not submit their papers to the online submission system can use this extended time period to submit their papers. Note that March 10 is a hard line and there are not any extension after March 10, 2009.
  • January 5, 2009: Call for Papers (CFP) and Call for Workshops/Special Sessions are posted and advertised.
